O'Neill fumes at 'wrong' decisions.

Byline: Mat Kendrick

MARTIN O'Neill was fuming at referee Mike Riley for his role in Manchester United's dramatic injury time victory over Villa.

The Villa boss was angry at the five minutes of stoppage time the Yorkshire official played and also an alleged foul on Ashley Young in the build up to Federico Macheda's 93rd minute winner.

O'Neill stormed over to Riley at the final whistle and assistant John Robertson was also remonstrating with a linesman after a couple of borderline offside decisions went United's way in the 3-2 victory.

And the claret and blue boss was still frustrated with the officials when he faced the press.

"I don't think we deserved that. I thought we were brilliant today.

It's a real sickener," fumed O'Neill..

"I sound as if I'm bleating here and allow me to bleat for 10 seconds.

"There was a foul on Ashley Young in the build up to the last goal, right in front of the linesman who proceeds to get three offsides wrong - and important ones because we were through on goal.

"And he threw that one in for good measure, although the referee probably helped a lot.

"I know my contemporaries come on TV and say the same thing but it's not the point. I tell you what if it had been the other way around it would have been a foul.

"The officials also got three offside decisions wrong when we were clean through.

"The referee plays five minutes which was no surprise.

"He wouldn't have played five minutes at Villa Park. Anyway that's my bleat finished."
