O'LEARY NAMED CHEMICAL'S CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER

NEW YORK, April 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Chemical Banking Corporation today announced the appointment of Denis J. O'Leary as chief information officer. Mr. O'Leary will be responsible for the corporation's information technology infrastructure, including communications, data processing and end-user computing; selected operational activities; and development and integration of information resources.
Mr. O'Leary succeeds Barbara D. Capsalis, executive vice president, who is resigning from Chemical effective June 1. "The progress we have made in integrating Chemical's technology systems, which I have been coordinating," Mrs. Capsalis said, "allows me to make a career change that I had delayed once the merger was announced."
Mr. O'Leary, 36, joined the bank in 1978 in the corporate lending division. He has held a variety of positions, including director of finance of the holding company from 1985-1989; deputy general manager of Geoserve, Chemical's operating services unit, from 1989-1991; and head of merger and strategic planning for the Regional Bank from 1991 to present. He was named a senior vice president in 1986. Mr. O'Leary has an MBA from New York University's Stern School of Business and a BA in economics from the University of Rochester.
Chemical Banking Corporation is the third largest bank holding company in the U.S., with assets of $147 billion and 1992 net income of $1.086 billion.
