O'Brien can Mik case for a treble.

Byline: Larry Lynx

AIDAN O'BRIEN has started several of his Classic winners' seasons with a victory in the Ballysax Stakes.

The champion trainer looks set to carry on the trait with Mikhail Glinka at Leopardstown today.

Mikhail Glinka (4.10) may not be in the same class as some of O'Brien's previous winners of the Group Three event, but the colt still has plenty going for him.

Twice a winner last season, including a Listed event here, he ended the term with the runners-up spot in a Group One race at Saint-Cloud in November.

African Cat and Andantino, with the benefit of recent runs on Dundalk's all-weather surface, can complete a hat-trick for O'Brien.

African Cat (2.30) carries top weight in the Stepaside Handicap, but could still be well-weighted after a game victory by a head over the useful Oscillate.

Andantino (3.00) was staying on strongly when fourth to Emrani and looks the pick of the very competitive Glenbeigh Handicap.

Dermot Weld's five-year-old Famous Name (3.35) was most consistent last season, signing off by running Pipedreamer close at Longchamp in October, and should win the Listed Heritage Stakes.
