Storm Damage Having No Immediate Effect on Pricing, Delivery
of Natural Gas for Company's Cogeneration Projects
PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Leading power project development company O'Brien Environmental Energy (AMEX: OBS) reported today that its generator rental subsidiary, O'Brien Rental Services, has fully deployed its available U.S. rental generator inventory in response to emergency electrical demand in hurricane-damaged areas of south Florida and Louisiana.
The equipment, consisting of individual generating units sized from 40 kilowatts to 2 megawatts, went on-rent to municipal authorities, Best Western hotels housing temporary relief crews, Federal Express depots to enhance communications and numerous private businesses and hospitals.
"Our generator rental subsidiary is experienced and prepared for emergency electrical needs during natural disasters," noted O'Brien vice president Bruce Levy.
In a related statement, Levy said the hurricane damage to offshore natural gas production platforms would have no adverse effect on the company's approximately 300 MW operating project portfolio for the first quarter. "Our natural gas price and delivery will remain at projected levels and with no negative impact on this quarter's performance," Levy added.
