M2 EQUITYBITES-June 23, 2014-Nuveen Massachusetts Premium Income Municipal Fund establishes date of annual shareholders' meeting


Nuveen Investments, a provider of investment services, disclosed on Saturday that the annual shareholders' meeting of Nuveen Massachusetts Premium Income Municipal Fund (NYSE:NMT), a closed end investment management company, has been set for 11 September 2014.

Further, the company mentioned that since it has moved the date of its meeting by over 30 days from its last annual shareholders' meeting, the deadlines for submissions of shareholder proposals at the meeting have changed as well.

Also, at the meeting the shareholder proposals to be considered and submitted under Rule 14a-8 of the US Securities Exchange Act of 1934, must be received at 333 West Wacker Drive, Chicago, Illinois 60606, the fund's office not later than 30 June 2014, while those wishing to provide notice under Rule 14a-4 (c) (1) and submitted outside of the process of Rule 14a-8 must do so not later than 29 July 2014.

The company also said that timely submission of a proposal does not necessarily mean that it will be included in the proxy statement.
