This work presents papers from a summer 2009 conference, ASTRONUM-2009, organized by the Center for Space Plasma and Aeronomic Research at the University of Alabama-Huntsville and the Laboratory for Research into the Fundamental Laws of the Universe at the French Commissariat of Atomic Energy. Papers are grouped in sections on turbulence and cosmic ray transport, astrophysical flows, space plasma flows, kinetic and hybrid simulations, numerical methods and algorithms, and data handling and visualization. Some research areas explored are high-order finite difference solutions for MHD, kinetic modeling of interstellar hydrogen in the heliosphere, and self-similar evolution of cosmic-ray modified shocks. The book is for specialists in applied mathematics, astrophysics, space physics, and computer science. It can also be used by graduate students studying approaches for solving the fluid dynamic and kinetic equations governing space plasma flows.
