Number Ten Architectural Group.

An architectural firm usually takes the name of its partners. Number Ten Architectural Group decided to be different. In the mid-'60s, we took our name from Number Ten Donald Street, a small two-storey building next to the Donald Street Bridge, adopting the public's reference to our street address.

In 1983, Number Ten moved to 115 Bannatyne Avenue, taking space in one of Winnipeg's historic warehouse buildings.

We have a staff of 40 people including architects, professional interior designers, and technicians. Our projects range from building and interior design to planning studies, architectural model building, computer modelling and three-dimensional graphics. All are approached with creative solutions. The firm's expertise is still traditional architectural and interior design for which it has received numerous awards.

The cornerstone of the firm's philosophy is "service." Every member of a project team takes a personal interest in the success and quality of the design and production of the clients' requirements -- whether the final result is a building, a report, graphics, or simply assisting in achieving a dream.

Number Ten has worked on projects around the world including a community school and survival centre on Baffin Island, a vocational college campus in Zambia, The Canadian Embassy in Pakistan and regional elementary and secondary schools in Minnesota. Other projects have included a housing prototype constructed of freezer panels for Inuit communities in the Arctic, major office buildings in Winnipeg and Vancouver, the Air Canada Maintenance Base at Winnipeg International Airport, and a Peace Tower at the International Peace Gardens on the Canada/U.S. border.

Number Ten is one of Manitoba's leading proponents of computer technology relating to design, production and graphics in the provision of services to clients. The future of Manitoba's business and architectural communities is invested in firms like ours, a company willing to look forward while respecting the past.
