"Will's ... moribund sex life [on Will & Grace] continues to irritate gay people.... Ill be the first to admit that I'd like to see the last episode (May 18) end with the perennially frustrated Will cruising a seedy leather bar and leaving at 3 A.M. in a drunken stupor with a shirtless and tattooed guy named Spike.

"The pragmatist in me, however, realizes that explicit sexuality isn't what this show is about. Will & Grace introduced gay people to millions of Americans and brought us into their living rooms .... The gay community owes [the show's creators] a debt of gratitude. They made it possible for the networks to take gay-themed shows seriously."

--From Wayne Besen's January 22 column on his WayneBesen.com Web site

"What is so great about this film for me is that [Felicity] Huffman clearly gets it.... [Her] respect comes through in her willingness to show Bree's bad choices as well as her good so that audiences can see a real character instead of the caricature that has become so familiar in the way in which transgender women are portrayed."

--Transgender Law Center director Christopher Daley, applauding Huffman's win at the Golden Globe awards for her MTF role in Transamerica, in a press release, January 17

"Folks, we complain a lot about how Hollywood has become a cesspool of violence and immorality. This is our chance to do something about initiating a change in that situation. Please join me in supporting End of the Spear."

--The Reverend Jerry Falwell, plugging out actor Chad Allen's new film in a mass e-mail, January 16

"Get ready for Dellen Cruise. That's what Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes told Ellen DeGeneres that they'd name their unborn child if it's a boy. If it's a girl, the name will be Ellen. They were kidding, of course. We hope. DeGeneres also offered to be the child's godmother--and to babysit."

--MSNBC.com's Jeannette Walls, discussing an episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, January 12
