Now pay your water bills online.

DELHIITES can now pay their water bills online.

The Delhi Jal Board's online bill payment facility was inaugurated by chief minister Sheila Dikshit on Friday.

" This is a major step taken by the DJB to provide better services. This facility will enable consumers to make payment at their convenience.

Plans are underway to provide payment of water bills through mobile phone services too," Dikshit said.

Consumers will have to log onto the DJB portal using the new K number. The DJP has empanelled 51 public and private sector banks for the online payment.

On Friday, Dikshit also authorised chief secretary P K Tripathi to devise a mechanism for ensuring that all roads in the city are well- lit.

There are eight agencies involved in the work.
