Now it's time to go Dutch.

Amsterdam Fantastic Film festival (9 - 15 June 2005)

Since 1984 this annual festival has become something of a cult institution among film fans. Screening a variety of films from European and international thrillers, to horror and science fiction movies, there's more than enough to whet the appetite of even the most avid film buff. Screenings take place at the Filmmuseum Cinerama and the Melkweg.

Holland Festival (1-26 June 2005)

By far the biggest arts event of the year in the Dutch calendar - the Holland Festival entertains Amsterdam for 3 whole weeks. The festival's jam-packed programme brings together international performers in theatre, music and opera from all over the world. Attended annually by up to 80,000, performances take place in venues and concert halls throughout the city.


Alternatively, if you'd prefer to be entertained outdoors this summer, then the Roots Festival is the one for you. Since 1998 the festival has bought top contemporary acts from all over the world, together to perform in the cities outdoor venues such as Oosterpark and Concertgebouw.
