Noverant Releases Life Sciences ASP Learning Management Systems Survey Results and White Paper.

RALEIGH, N.C -- Noverant Inc., a learning management systems (LMS) provider to the pharmaceutical and life sciences industries, today announced availability of its new white paper "ASP Learning Management Systems: Adapting to the Needs of Small to Medium-Sized Companies." The white paper recounts findings from a survey commissioned by Noverant to gauge the awareness of LMSs and their availability through application service providers (ASPs). It also provides selection criteria for evaluating learning management systems.

Summit Strategy Partners, a marketing, PR and communications firm headquartered in North Carolina's Research Triangle Park area conducted the survey, compiled the results and authored the white paper.

According to the survey, cost is the single biggest reason small and medium sized life science firms haven't adopted computer based LMSs. Enterprises are unable to achieve the required return on investment for 100 to 500 employees when the upfront cost is $150,000 or more.

Survey findings include:

* 55% of respondents were unaware of ASP LMSs

* 45% thought ASP LMSs would be too expensive and/or not meet security and flexibility requirements

* 22% were evaluating ASP LMSs for cost or internal IT resource reasons

* 78% chose an in-house make/buy solution
