November 2014 textile exports up 13.02 ercent YoY.

Textile exports from the country surged by 13.02 percent in November 2014 as compared to the corresponding period of last year according to the data released by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. The provisional data for November 2014 released by PBS showed that the total textile exports were recorded at $1128 million in November 2014 up by 13.02 percent over $998 million for the same month of last fiscal year. Detailed analysis of the commodities showed that ten textile products witnessed positive growth among all textile group in November 2014 compared to November 2013 which included cotton yarn which witnessed positive growth of 31.49 percent to $181 million in November 2014 over $138 million same month last of the year.

A growth of 1.77 percent in the export of cotton cloth was recorded during the period under review rising from $191 million in November 2013 to $194 million in November 2014. Export of Knitwear from the country witnessed positive growth of 16.53 percent to $185 million in November 2014 over $158 million same month last of the year. Export of bed wear witnessed growth of 8.96 percent in November 2014 comparing to same month of last year as it raise from $156 million (October 2013) to $170 million November this year.

Export of madeup articles surged by 15.08 percent to $54 million in November 2014 over $47 million during same period of last year. A growth of 683.41 percent was recorded in the export of yarn other than cotton yarn in November 2014 as total yarn other than cotton yarn exported from the country during the period was recorded at $3.6 million in November 2014 against $0.464 million same month of the last year. During the period under review the export of towel from the country surged by 9.05 percent rising from $54 million (November 2013) to $59 million November 2014. Export of tents canvas and tarpaulin from the country during the period under review was 98.75 percent rising from $7 million (November 2013) to $13 million November 2014.

A growth of 19.19 percent was recorded in the export of readymade garments in November 2014 as readymade garments exported from the country during the period was recorded at $169 million in November 2014 against $141 million same month of the last year while export of other textile material witnessed 11.62 percent growth rising from $36 million (November 2013) to 41 million November 2014.

However negative growth in the export of textile group was noted in raw cotton yarn cotton carded or combed and art silk and synthetic textile which witnessed negative by 22.86 percent 86.84 percent and 11.19 percent in November 2014 over the same period last year.
