NovaLogic Holds Armored Fist 2 Pre-Launch Event At Ft. Hunter Ligget

Army National Guard 40th Infantry Division (Mech.) Invites NovaLogic and
 Press to Annual Training

CALABASAS, Calif., July 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Computer game developer NovaLogic prepped media about its new tank simulation game, Armored Fist 2- M1A2 Abrams by hosting a two-day pre-launch event at the Army National Guard's Annual Training Exercises at Fort Hunter-Ligget, Camp Roberts California. This unprecedented event allowed the media to learn how an actual tank works then compare the experience to Armored Fist 2.

John Garcia, President of NovaLogic, commented, "We wanted to provide the press with as much information as possible about tanks, combat and how the Army operates and deploys. This provides an experience and knowledge base from which to evaluate our game."

The 40th Infantry Division of the Army National Guard offered NovaLogic and the media a unique opportunity to observe and participate in both day and night M1 Tank Gunnery Exercises (M1IP), live Artillery Firing and Crew Served Weapons Firing (M-60 and M-16 Machine Guns). Journalists inspected an Ml tank and rode inside the loader and gunner positions. They received information on various tank weaponry such as the Sabot round, H.E.A.T. (High Explosive Anti- Tank) rounds, 50 caliber Machine Gun and the 7.62 COAX. They also experienced the bone-jarring firepower of the M109 self-propelled Howitzer.

Journalists also received daily briefings from experienced Army National Guard soldiers and war veterans. Armored Fist 2 consultant and former tanker, Major Greg Smith, U.S. Army, Retired, was also on hand to answer questions relating to how Armored Fist 2 compares to the actual MIA2 tank (the 4th generation of Ml tanks) and real-life combat situations.

Garcia concluded, "It has truly been a once-in-a-lifetime experience for both NovaLogic staff and members of the media. The soldiers of the Army National Guard were very professional and proficient in their areas of expertise. We were extremely honored that they allowed us to participate and observe them in their Annual Training Exercises."

Armored Fist 2 will be available in stores nationwide, August 1997.
