Notable Minnesota Rock Musicians Join School of Rock Twin Cities in Music Festival to Raise Funds for Music Education.

St. Paul, MN, April 11, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Musicians are notorious for using their skill to give back to the community at large and Minnesota musicians are no exception. April 25 2015, 10 of Minnesota's most notable musicians will join the School of Rock Twin Cities in a festival to raise funds for music education at the BEST OF MINNESOTA MUSIC FESTIVAL.

Open to the public of all ages, BEST OF MINNESOTA MUSIC FESTIVAL begins at 12:00pm at the iconic Minnesota Music Cafe, 499 Payne Ave., St Paul MN.

Participating musicians include:

Lori Barbero, Babes in Toyland: Recently ranked #2 among the Top 20 Female Drummers, Lori Barbero sits behind the skins of Babes in Toyland, the all female punk band featured in 1991 documentary, “The Year Punk Broke” and “Not Bad For A Girl” in 1995. They were also the subject of the book “Babes in Toyland: The making and selling of a rock n roll band.” Reunited after a 14-year hiatus, Rolling Stone magazine explains their comeback. http://www.rollingstone.com/music/features/inside-babes-in-toylands-unlikely-reunion-20141118

Claudio Rivera, Motion City Soundtrack: Motion City Soundtrack is arguably the most widely known alternative band to come out of Minnesota. Their third full length album debuted at #1 on the Independent Albums Chart and #16 on Billboard 200. They've sold over 600,000 records in their career.

Larry Wiegand, Crow: Crow is a blues rock band who established themselves in the Twin Cities in the 1970s. They are best known for the song "Evil Woman," which went to #19 on the Billboard Top 100 and was covered by Black Sabbath.

Paddy Costello, Dillinger 4: Dillinger 4 put Minneapolis on the national punk scene in the late-1990s.

Eric Berg, The Regenerators: Local music staple on the Twin Cities scene since he was a teen; owns Capitol Guitar in St. Paul, MN.

Chad Hanks, American Head Charge: American Head Charge is an internationally renowned industrial metal band that signed with American Recordings in 2000 and produced their first major label at the infamous Rick Rubin-owned Houdini Mansion. The album sold over 12,000 copies in the United States in its first week and went on to sell over 250,000.

Sean McPherson, Heiruspecs: Sean McPherson was a founding member of Heiruspecs; a hip hop band that has a day named after it. St. Paul Minnesota Mayor Chris Coleman declared December 22, 2007 Heiruspecs Day in Minnesota's capitol city in commemoration of 10 years of St. Paul pride and good Hip Hop music.

Casey Smith, Scarlet Haze: Smith joined fellow North Dakota transplant Kat Perkins in her band “Scarlet Haze” in 2007 and continues to play with Kat Perkins today. Kat was among the Top 5 finalists on The Voice in Season 6, Oct 2013 - May 2014. Casey routinely travels to the Middle East to entertain U.S. military personnel stationed there. In addition to continuing to perform, Smith also runs Minneapolis-based KnottBrite Studio.

Mary Jane Alm: Solo artist; member of Minnesoat Music Hall of Fame.

Kyle Kimm, France Camp : France Camp was named Rock Band of the Year 2014 by the Twin Cities alternative newspaper, City Pages.

"BEST OF MINNESOTA MUSIC FESTIVAL gives local music fans the opportunity to engage with some of Minnesota's most successful musicians in an intimate environment," said Stacey Marmolejo. Owner School of Rock Twin Cities franchise. "Fans will enjoy listening to the musicians perform their own music with School of Rock students, get autographs and have their photo taken with the pros.
