Nostalgias of Gozo; images from the 1880s to the 1930s.

Bonello, Giovanni.

Fondazzjoni Patrimonju Malti

222 pages

Judge Bonello has gathered together pictures of the Aegean island of Gozo taken from the 1880s to the 1930s. Many are by the photographer Michele Farrugia who made postcards of Gozo, as well as of the people. Bonello arranged the photographs, some in color, by scenes of the islands, people, events such as religious processions, funerals and festivals and, last but not least, Gozo boats, beautiful two masted sail boats with a distinctive rigging that makes them appear to be butterflies skimming the water. This is a lovely memento of times past on this tiny island. Distributed in North America by The David Brown Book Co. Landscape format 10x8".
