Norwegian court rules that bottom-pinching at work is not a sexual offence.
NORDIC BUSINESS REPORT-23 September 2003-Norwegian court rules that bottom-pinching at work is not a sexual offence(C)1994-2003 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com
A Norwegian court has ruled that pinching a woman on the bottom in the workplace is not a sexual offence.
The ruling means that a cafe's male cook who pinched two 14-year-old female employees on the bottom cannot be punished under Norway's criminal code. The girls were working at the cafe as part of a school project.
The judges ruled that although the behaviour of the cook was "highly worthy of criticism", it did not constitute illegal sexual harassment, reported the Norwegian newspaper Aftenposten.
