I value the excellent cooperation we have with the UK in the energy sector. The UK authorities have confirmed that gas will remain important to them in future, and this is very important for Norway, says Minister of Petroleum and Energy Ola Borten Moe.
Around 25 percent of the gas consumed in the UK is covered by imports from Norway.
The planned power cable between Norway and the United Kingdom was also discussed, and the importance of continued investment in carbon capture and storage was emphasised.
UK Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change Edward Davey and Minister of Petroleum and Energy Ola Borten Moe discussed energy cooperation between Norway and the United Kingdom.
