22 February 2017 - London-based law firm Norton Rose Fulbright and New York-based law firm Chadbourne and Parke LLP have announced plans to merge in 2Q17, strengthening client offerings and practice capabilities of both law firms, the company said.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Norton Rose Fulbright posted global revenue of USD 1.74bn in 2015, the latest year for which figures were available; Chadbourne had USD 249m in revenue the same year.
The combined firm will be Norton Rose Fulbright.
Norton Rose Fulbright said the merger will extend capabilities, particularly in the areas of energy and infrastructure, banking and corporate finance, project finance, bankruptcy and financial restructuring, litigation, dispute resolution and regulatory law.
Following the combination, the firm will have more than 1,000 lawyers in the US, including more than 300 lawyers in New York. The global firm will comprise more than 4,000 lawyers in 58 offices spanning 32 countries.
