Washington State MTA is continuing the Shoreline Community College Piano Series. This consists of four Sunday afternoon piano recitals performed by members of the Shoreline Community College piano faculty, many who are members of the Seattle and Edmonds WMSTA chapters. These recitals present unique programs of solo and duo repertoire, stylistically covering the history of European and American music. Proceeds benefit the Shoreline Scholarship Fund. WMSTA's 2005 state conference will be June 27-July 1 at Gonzaga University in Spokane. Nelita True, NCTM, will be the featured guest clinician.
Wyoming MTA's state conference will be June 16-18, 2005, in Cheyenne. Doug Humpherys from the Eastman School of Music will be the featured clinician and recitalist.
The upcoming MTNA National Conference in Seattle, Washington, April 2-6, 2005, promises stimulating educational sessions in music literature, performance, pedagogy and technology; exciting concerts; master classes; and the national finals of the MTNA student performance competitions. Attending this conference is a wonderful opportunity to expand any teacher's awareness of performing and teaching.
