Northwest Airlines in talks with flight attendants.
AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2006 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTDLast minute talks are being held between the flight attendants of Northwest Airlines and the airline.
The Professional Flight Attendants Association has said that it is in "continual contact" with the airline. The union is reportedly hoping to reach an agreement before the airline imposes its own contract terms unilaterally on the union.
According to Reuters, Northwest was given permission by a bankruptcy judge last week to terminate the current contract with flight attendants and impose new terms. However, Judge Allan Gropper delayed the date the permission becomes effective until next week to allow for further negotiations.
