Northern TUC conference.
THE Northern TUC will be holding its regional conference at the Old Assembly Rooms in Newcastle this weekend.More than 150 delegates from the region's affiliated unions will converge on the event to shape the direction of trade unionism and trade union priorities over the next two years.
The event is titled A Northern Future That Works and will see delegates discuss a 10-point plan to improve the economy of the region.
Speakers at the event on Saturday and Sunday will include TUC general secretary Frances O'Grady, Ann Pettifor, director of Advocacy International, and Judith Kirton-Darling, confederal secretary of European Trade Union Confederation.
