Northern Goose expands its market

The P.M. Importing Co. of Stamford, CT, announced the expansion of Northern Goose N.A. into five states. The Canadian non-alcoholic brew will now be available to consumers in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Florida, the company recently reported.

According to Phillip Miller, president of P.M. Importing, "Northern Goose is an authentic Canadian beer that has been sold and marketed in Canada for many years, and is one of the original premium non-alcoholic beers."

Miller noted that Northern Goose, produced by Canada's Northern Breweries, Inc., recently won a gold medal for taste at the Monde Selection in Amsterdam, competing with other alcohol-free brews from around the world.

Miller also observed that the non-alcoholic brew category has shown rapid growth in the U.S. market. "Consumers are beginning to buy and accept non-alcoholic brews," he said, "and more and more retailers are putting up mass displays for these products."

Miller said that changing lifestyles ensure a position for non-alcoholic brew. "New DWI laws almost make it mandatory to offer a non-alcoholic product as an option for the consumer," he noted, "and as people continue to moderate their consumption, non-alcoholic brews will grow in prominence."
