North Today: Death of rural dean.

THE Bishop of Durham, the Right Reverend Dr Tom Wright, yesterday announced the death, on December 7, of the Reverend George Dove Nesham, aged 87.

Married to Violet, Mr Nesham served a second curacy at Ferryhill, as well as incumbencies at Stanley and Satley in County Durham. He was also the rural dean of Stanhope and a police chaplain at Durham, while serving the diocese all over the region.

A Requiem Mass will be held at 13:15 on Thursday at St Cuthbert's Church in Hebburn.
