North Lake Tahoe to Host Fireworks Extravaganzas.

Visitors and area residents can choose from four different fireworks shows next week in North Lake Tahoe.

The first show will take place Wednesday, July 3 at Kings Beach State Recreation Area in Kings Beach, California. The second show is set for Thursday, July 4 at Commons Beach in Tahoe City, California. There's also a show July 4 at Donner Lake in Truckee, California. The final show is scheduled for Friday, July 5 on the West Shore in Homewood, California. Best viewing spots for West Shore festivities are the West Shore Cafe and on the hillside at Homewood Mountain Resort.

All four shows begin at approximately 9 p.m. and run up to 50 minutes. Attendees are advised to arrive early. Shows are free and open to the public. Most fireworks are launched from barges located on Lake Tahoe.

That week, North Lake Tahoe will also host a number of special events including the Village at Squaw Valley Street Party New Orleans style, set for Thursday, July 4, featuring the sounds of Joseph 'Zigaboo' Modeliste, "Godfather of Groove," and a smokin' Cajun BBQ in the Plaza hosted by Balboa Cafe. Concert is 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and is free. There's also the American Bluegrass and Blues Festival, scheduled for Friday, July 5 to Saturday, July 6, at Squaw Valley USA. This event is free with the purchase of a cable car ticket. An annual arts and crafts fair will be held at the Kings Beach State Recreation Area, and will run from Thursday, July 4 through Sunday, July 7. There's also the Village at Squaw Valley Magic Show with strolling magicians, jugglers and caricaturist set for Friday, July 5. For outdoor enthusiasts, Donner Ski Ranch, located off Interstate 80, will offer Rage'n at the Ranch Mountain Bike Race Saturday, July 6.

North Lake Tahoe is located approximately 45 minutes from the Reno Tahoe International Airport and 120 minutes from the Sacramento International Airport. Both Airports are served by dozens of flights daily from major cities.
