North Korea claims successful launch of new ICBM.

TOKYO, Nov 29 (KUNA) -- North Korea claimed on Wednesday that it has successfully test-fired a new type of intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), warning that the whole of the US mainland is within its range. North Korean leader Kim Jong-un ordered and observed the launch of the Hwasong-15 missile earlier in the day, which reached an altitude of 4,475 km and flew 950 km for 53 minutes, the country's official Korean Central News Agency reported. Kim declared that his country has finally realized the great historic cause of completing "the state nuclear force," according to the agency. The Hwasong-15 precisely hit its target in the East Sea (Sea of Japan), the report said, adding that it is capable of carrying a "super-large heavy warhead" and "striking the whole mainland of the US. It was Pyongyang's third ICBM test following the launch in July. (end) mk.mb
