North Douglas, Oakland set for playoff test.

OAKLAND - North Douglas claimed second place in the Big Fir League on Saturday with a 39-33 girls basketball victory over Oakland.

Erin Thomas scored 12 points and teammate Corrinne Kaleese chipped in 10 for the Warriors (20-4, 10-2 Big Fir).

Oakland (18-6, 9-3) finished in third place and will meet North Douglas again Friday at Sutherlin to determine the league's No. 2 seed in the Class 2A tournament in Pendleton.

Nyrie Taylor led the Oakers with 14 points, and Rachel Dean grabbed 13 rebounds.

Skyline League Playoffs

Butte Falls 51, Elkton 32

SUTHERLIN - The Loggers earned the league's No. 2 seed into the Class 1A state tournament in Baker City with the victory over the Elks.

Sarah Matthews led the Loggers with 12 points, and Brianna Smeltz and Krystal Rowley each added 10. Erin Langkamp sparked Elkton (12-15) with 12 points, and Sam Russell scored 10 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

Casco League Playoffs

Damascus Christian 62, Mohawk 31

SALEM - The Eagles beat the Indians at North Salem High School to earn the league's No. 1 berth to the Class 1A state tournament.

Mohawk will face Columbia Christian on Wednesday at North Salem to determine the league's No. 2 seed to the tournament.

Sky-Em League

Cottage Grove 45, Glide 32

COTTAGE GROVE - The Lions outscored the Wildcats 40-24 after the first quarter. Wendy Levings-Matson had 16 points and eight rebounds to lead Cottage Grove (10-12, 6-7 Sky-Em).

Amy Croll had nine points to lead Glide (7-14, 3-10).

Far West League

Douglas 49, Brookings 40

WINSTON - The Trojans stayed two games behind league-leading Myrtle Point with the win over the Bruins.

Porsha Crager led Douglas (19-2, 10-2 Far West) with 13 points, followed by Bella Burt with 12 and Brittnee DeWald with 10. Amanda Kroy had 11 points to lead Brookings (8-13, 4-8).
