Norstein hybrid arrives with top stats.

Welsh dairy farmers were presented last week with a possible solution to one of the biggest challenges facing UK dairy farmers today - how to achieve optimum health and fertility traits and optimum yield on a sustainable and long-term basis.

In a series of workshops across the country, the leading AI company Green Acres introduced the Norstein, a new hybrid of the Holstein and Norwegian Red, that trials in the United States have shown to make major savings through significantly lower stillbirth rates, easier calving, and lower disease incidence. And the Norstein is coming out on top for milk production, fat and protein.

The Norstein is now available to UK producers for the first time.

Green Acres customer service manager Jason Kean said farmers 'had come to the workshops to find a truly long-term breeding solution.'
