Norsat International Inc (TSX:NII) (OTCBB:NSATF), a provider of broadband communications solutions, reported on Tuesday that it has won a new satellite based communications equipment and services programme worth USD1.3m.

This contract, with the NATO Consultation, Command and Control Agency (NC3A), is for equipment to be used in Afghanistan.

Norsat said that it expects to deliver the majority of the initial equipment and services by the end of the first quarter of 2012.

NC3A, a NATO institution, is responsible for delivering cutting-edge technology in support of NATO's missions and decision making.
