Norprint's new Cheese Labelling System.
Using their system integration capabilities, Norprint's new system has been developed using their high speed Meridian label applicator and tailored WLP software to handle the weight and print data. This system also includes their bespoke product handling conveyoring systems, the PC-driven touch-screen integrated Cintex metal detector and check-weigh unit, together with their latest thermal transfer print engine by SATO.
This whole system can be used for fixed weight labelling or random weight labelling. It applies labels to the product at a rate of 15,600 labels or 3600 an hour, respectively. The system checks for metal contamination, rejecting cheese if necessary and then weighs the cheese block or wedge, again rejecting the piece of cheese if necessary.
Depending upon customer requirements, this system can be programmed to produce and print a label for the top of a piece of cheese with weight-dependent information, such as price per kilo and the actual price calculated from the weight. 'Best before' and 'display until' dates are also calculated and printed on the label. This system can also produce and print a label for the bottom of the pack with a weight-dependent price related EAN13 barcode printed on it, say Nor of Horncastle Road, Boston, Lincolnshire, tel:0120 536 5161.
