Nonwovens focus continues at Fiberweb's Holvis Group parent.

Several moves have been made by the Holvis Group, parent company of the seventh largest roll goods manufacturer Fiberweb Group, Brugg, Switzerland, to reflect its continued commitment to nonwovens.

The company recently sold its Cartiera di Carmignano specialty papers subsidiary to Industrieholding Cham. The Cartiera di Carmignano sale includes two mills in Carmignano and Condino, Italy, that produce specialty papers for flexible packaging as well as its international distribution organization. The sale was completed because the company's activities no longer fit with Holvis' strategic thrust, which focuses on nonwovens.

A name change for two companies that are part of the Fiberweb Group has also been initiated. Italian manufacturer Neuberger has changed its name to Fiberweb Neuberger SpA, while French manufacturer Sodoca has been renamed Fiberweb Sodoca Sarl. The name change reflects the integration of the entire group of companies into a stronger organization with a focus on delivering value by maximizing synergies.

in other Fiberweb news, after seven years with Neuberger, Herbert Gerlach is leaving the company. A new manager will begin in mid May, with Mr. Gerlach assisting in the transition until June 30. Mr. Gerlach will continue to act as a consultant with Fiberweb Neuberger.
