Debra Francis has been named Parent Educator of the Year by Arkansas Parenting Education Network of Little Rock. Francis is the parent center coordinator for the Trumann School District.
Susan Winkler, nutrition education coordinator for Arkansas Health Department, Des Arc, has been named president of the Arkansas Association of Family and Consumer Sciences. The other new officers are Dr. Patti Miley, chair of the family and consumer sciences department of Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, president-elect; Dr. Judy A. Robison, University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service in Little Rock, vice president; Tina Boyles, family and consumer sciences instructor at Clarendon High School, treasurer; Evelyn Good, family and consumer sciences instructor at Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, secretary; and Rose Marie Willis, Department of Workforce Education in Little Rock, counselor.
Dr. Irene K. Lee, administrator of programs at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff has been given the Leaders Award by the Arkansas Association of Family and Consumer Sciences. Kris Elliott, family and consumer science extension agent for Van Buren County, received the association's New Achievers Award. Janan Jackson, poultry products specialist for the Egg Council of Arkansas Livestock and Poultry Commission in Little Rock, has been given the Professional of the Year Award.
