Nomai S.A. majority shareholders Marc and Herve Frouin reject SyQuest purchase offer.

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 26, 1996--

Nomai USA will remain wholly owned subsidiary of

French based company

Nomai announced today that it has formally rejected a purchase offer from SyQuest Technology of Fremont, Calif.

Following a week of marathon financial, technical and corporate due diligence and negotiations, it became evident to Nomai's majority shareholders that the terms proposed by SyQuest were unacceptable.

"Nomai is a rapidly growing company in a booming removable hard disk drive market. It was impossible to come to an agreement with SyQuest due to its depressed stock price and the current state of their business," said Marc Frouin, CEO of Nomai S.A.

"I am happy a decision has been made and that we can continue to serve our customers," said Kevin Scheier, president of Nomai USA. "We are committed to producing products of exceptional quality and look forward to an exciting future," Scheier added.

Nomai is a worldwide supplier of high-performance removable hard drives and cartridges for both PC and Macintosh Computers. Since 1992, Nomai has been a leading innovator and manufacture of premium drives and cartridges for the consumer and business markets. Nomai USA, a subsidiary of Nomai S.A. based in Avranches, France, maintains it's headquarters in Santa Clara.
