NORDIC BUSINESS REPORT-4 November 2002-Nokia privacy solution allows mobile users to control access to location information (C)1994-2002 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

Finnish communications solutions provider Nokia has released a new component of its end-to-end mPosition solution, which allows mobile operators to offer enhanced mobile location services.

The Nokia iGMLC Privacy Manager is claimed to strengthen operators' existing location-based service offerings, while advancing location functionality as a key enabler for new mobile multimedia services.

The new solution processes information about a subscriber's location and sends this information to application service providers while protecting the subscriber's privacy. Mobile subscribers can choose when and to whom their location information is available.
