HE'S a legend of the music industry and Noel Gallagher and his High Flying Birds will headline one night of a massive music festival in Newcastle next year.

This is Tomorrow, which saw the likes of Catfish & the Bottlemen and Thirty Seconds to Mars entertain at Spiller's Wharf in the summer is making the switch to Exhibition Park in May and the High Flying Birds will headline the second night in the event's new home.

The festival will open on Friday, May 24, with headliners to be confirmed.

Organisers SSD Concerts have said the event, a first of its kind on Exhibition Park, promises to be the largest and most forward-thinking live musical gathering the city has ever witnessed.

Speaking about the announcement, SSD Concert's Steve Davis, said: "The people of the Newcastle and the North East are in for something truly special when This Is Tomorrow lands. It will be futuristic in its vibe and we have many special things planned.
