Noel's back on stage.

NOEL Gallagher was backed by strings and a choir as he performed a host of Oasis's hits at the Royal Albert Hall, saying he was saving his new material.

Gallagher has been keeping a low profile since Oasis split last summer. But he returned to the stage for two headline concerts for the Teenage Cancer Trust. Many audience members stayed on their feet throughout the night as Gallagher, who according to reports is expecting to become a father again, played Cast No Shadow, Slide Away, and crowd favourite Wonderwall.

The Mancunian singer brought the night to a climax with the band's big hit Don't Look Back In Anger.
