No. 9 Cottman Transmission Car to Pace 2004 Wachovia USPRO Championship On Sunday, June 6.

FORT WASHINGTON, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 1, 2004

Cottman Transmission Systems, LLC, announced today that its No. 9 Cottman Transmission Ford will be the pace car for the 2004 Wachovia USPRO Championship in Philadelphia on Sunday, June 6. The Cottman car will be the first NASCAR car ever to lead the opening ceremonies for the race, one of the six official events on the 2004 Pro Cycling Tour. Cottman is sponsoring the No. 9 car and NASCAR driver Jeff Burton in four Busch Series races this year. Cottman repairs, remanufactures, and services automotive transmissions and has over 400 locations in 43 states. In the Delaware Valley, there are over 35 Cottman Transmission centers.

Official start time is 9:00 AM for the 156-mile race, which begins at the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. This is the richest single-day cycling event in the US with a purse of $135,500.
