No need for GB honours; Letters.

I DO not wish to belittle Team GB's excellent Olympic performance, but all the media speculation and assumption re "gongs" etc is unacceptable, especially after all the comments about the last honours list. Where do you stop with all the hand-outs of honours which belittles the honours system? Perhaps in the future, when the athletes have stopped competing and they put something back into their sport for "free" - as many ordinary people do with charity work for no reward - is the time to consider if their name should be on the honours list.

In the meantime, the team has been rewarded for all their hard work by being chosen and honoured to represent their country in Rio.

Further reward was gained with the winning of medals. Well done everyone.
