No large-scale power cuts this summer.
THERE were no large-scale power cuts this summer, revealed Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr Abdulhussain Mirza.
He said individual cuts were dealt with by the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA), but they were minimal compared to the 380,000 active accounts and did not constitute as large-scale power cuts affecting entire neighbourhoods or business districts.
"The Sustainable Energy Unit has already prepared a national plan to elevate electricity efficiency in Bahrain up by to six per cent by 2025," said Dr Mirza in a statement.
"The country has not witnessed any cuts during this summer and the only cuts that have occurred were individual and dealt with instantaneously, but they are nothing compared to the 380,000 accounts under the EWA.
"We have been making efforts to maintain power cuts within internationally tolerable limits using the best preventive maintenance practices through upgrading and improving power distribution network."
