No ducking your duties now mum!

A DUCK took shelter on the roof of a Liverpool school to hatch her ducklings.

And despite the best efforts of RSPCA officers and staff atThe Academy of St Francis of Assisi in Kensington they stayed in their new home for five weeks.

School staff laid out water trays for the duck and her nine ducklings on the sports hall roof.

Gareth Jones ICT manager at the school said: "The ducks had a really calming effect on the children.

"We would take pictures of them and show them to the children each morning."

The duck and ducklings have now been rescued and taken to Newsham Park lake.
