No disguising Tories' cheers.
CT, Gateshead, states that I was wrong to say that Tories were laughing and cheering the vote in favour of retaining the pay cap for public sector workers and that they were in fact cheering the passing of the Queen's Speech.
Wrong, I'm afraid. They were cheering the fact that with the help of the DUP they had just defeated a Labour amendment to the Queen's speech to give state employees a rise above the 1% that has been in place since 2010.
This vote took place on June 28. I should add that DUP members joined in the cheering, no surprise there.
