No disgrace in a Hollo victory; RACING IN BRIEF: LEOPARDSTOWN.

NOEL Meade bagged a second Grade One race inside the space of 24 hours as Hollo Ladies followed up Go Native's Kempton success in the Future Champions Novice Hurdle at Leopardstown yesterday.

Go Native had taken second behind Hurricane Fly in the corresponding event 12 months earlier, and his Boxing Day heroics on the other side of the Irish Sea proves the race deserves its title.

Hollo Ladies only had a maiden win eight days earlier to his name, but the loftier company brought about an improved performance and Davy Condon's mount earned a hard-fought neck success over Saludos.

Sweeps Hill and 11-8 favourite Some Present proved huge disappointments and brought up the rear of the eight-runner field.

Meade said of his shock 25-1 winner: "I bet you all thought I was mad running him, but I knew he was tough and if it came down to a dog fight he would keep finding and finding."
