No Asbo on protest gran.

A JUDGE yesterday refused to slap an Asbo on a peace campaigning grandmother.

Lindis Percy, 63, was convicted of obstructing the road and police at a US early warning listening base.

But District Judge Roy Anderson said: "Courts ought not to allow anti-social behaviour orders to be used as a club to beat down the expression of legitimate comment."

Instead he tagged Mrs Percy, of Hull, and gave her a night time curfew to keep away from the base at Menwith Hill, North Yorks. She will appeal and said: "This is political."
