Nissan reports 21.8% growth in sales in September, keeps No. 3 rank in Campi.

Car assembler Nissan Philippines maintained its position as the country's third top car company among members of the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines (Campi) in September.

In a statement on Thursday, Nissan Philippines reported that it sold 4,768 units, representing a 21.8-percent year-on-year growth in September 2019.

Nissan sales in September marked the highest monthly sales for the brand in the Philippines, outperforming the previous record of 4,616 units sold in March 2019.

'The strong sales performance is the result of the company's strong fundamentals. Excellent products and services, supported by passionate employees and dealer partners, are the foundations of Nissan's continued success in the Philippines,' Atsushi Najima, president and managing director for Nissan in the Philippines, said.

Nissan said its sales were driven by Nissan Navara, which accounted for 46 percent of its total sales. This made the vehicle the best-selling pickup for September.

It added that the Nissan Terra also pushed its record sales, with the mid-size SUV contributing 23 percent for the month.

Both the Nissan Navara and Terra have recently been upgraded with the Nissan Advanced Display Audio, as well as large touch-screen displays and an Intelligent Around View Monitor.

The Nissan Advanced Display Audio supports Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay allows users to access Android and Apple functions directly from the entertainment unit.

These functions, Nissan said, include mobile assistants, navigation apps and music players while on the go.
