Nissan introduces new 10,000km service interval.

Starting January 1, all Nissans sold in Oman are being offered with periodic service intervals of either 10,000km or every six months, depending on which comes first instead of the existing 5,000km interval.

The Japanese automaker, as a part of its regional after-sales excellence strategy, has thus re-affirmed its commitment to customers by offering them a greater convenience and peace of mind with extended service intervals for its new vehicles, a press release said.

The 10,000km service interval programme is applicable for all passenger cars, SUVs and commercial vehicles in the Nissan range. The extended service interval will also be economically beneficial as compared to the current 5,000km service schedule.

"With this shift customers will continue enjoying the most competitive cost of maintenance and ownership while ensuring optimum safety and reliability of all vehicles. It is also better value for money for customers," a senior SBA official said.

To avail the extended 10,000km service interval programme, existing Nissan owners need to take their vehicles to any authorised Nissan Service Centre in Oman. Nissan's service technicians will then incorporate the new motor oil 5W30SM in the vehicles to make the changeover. Service technicians have undergone rigorous preparation and training to make this changeover a smooth experience for all customers.

Scientists working at Nissan collaborated with motor oil manufacturing experts to develop a synthetic motor oil -- 5W30SM -- after comprehensive research and testing. This grade of technologically advanced motor oil will ensure vehicles continue to deliver optimum level of performance in the long run under the extended 10,000km service programme.
