Nishank orders to resolve problems faced by forces.

Dehradun, April 28 -- Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank in a meeting with Lt Gen SP Tanwar, GOC (General Officer Commanding) Uttar Bharat Area, instructed him to take concrete steps for improving infrastructure at the fringe areas of the State. The General also updated the Chief Minister with the problems being faced by the forces while taking various beneficiary projects to the ground level in the Garhwal and Kumaon Divisions of the State.

Lt Gen Tanwar told the Chief Minister that the problem being faced by the department while constructing infrastructure was reserved forest land. "Dozens of beneficiary projects are pending due to the reserved forest land," he maintained and also demanded to establish camps for defence personnel in the remote areas of the State.

Lt General Tanwar urged the Chief Minister to sanction scholarships exclusively for cadets from Uttarakhand for RIMC (Rashtriya Indian Military College). He also demanded to release orders for permanently acquiring firing a range at Asan and Pitthoragarh and also urged him to sanction land in Haridwar and Dehradun for constructing houses for former and serving defence personnel.On this the Chief Minister has instructed Principal Secretary DK Kotia to resolve the issues at the earliest.

"Uttarakhand is a land of defence personnel and concrete steps would surely be taken by the State Government for resolving their issues," Nishank said and instructed Commissioners to take steps for resolving their grievances.

Sub Area Commander Brig AK Siwach was also present in the meeting.
