Nintendo posts 11.45 bil. yen in 1st-qtr group net profit.
Video game console and software maker Nintendo Co. said Tuesday its group net profit came to 11.45 billion yen in the April-June period.
Nintendo said its performance was boosted by sales of its Game Boy Advance video game consoles as well as by related software titles such as ''Pocket Monster Ruby/Sapphire.''
In the first three months of the 2003 business year, consolidated pretax profit came to 17.71 billion yen on 83.82 billion yen in sales. Net profit per share came to 85.52 yen.
For the year through March 2004, Nintendo forecast group net and pretax profits of 65 billion yen and 110 billion yen, respectively, on sales of 550 billion yen.
