Nijman wins Europe Rubber Technologist Award.

Dr. Gerard Nijman was presented the Europe Rubber Technologist 2016 Award from the Rubber Technologists Network during the first edition of Europe Rubber Industry Forum 2016, held June 22-23 in Heidelberg, Germany. Nijman was awarded for his excellent contribution to rubber technology in terms of industrial research, education and training the younger generation. The award was presented by eminent rubber technologists Professor Robert Schuster and Dr. Hans-Joachm Graf. Europe Rubber Industry Forum 2016 was organized by TechnoBiz Europe.

Nijman is head of extrusion technology at Harburg Freudenberger in Hamburg, Gennany. He previously worked for Apollo Tyres and Vredestein Banden BV. Nijman has published several articles and book chapters on rubber mixing and processing, and he holds more than 20 patents. Nijman gives lectures at universities, and presents courses and presentations on several aspects of rubber mixing, rheology and processing at the D1K (German Rubber Institute), and at rubber conferences and exhibitions organized by TechnoBiz in various locations around the world.

Rubber Technologists Network is an organization of rubber technologists founded by TechnoBiz and Rubber World in March to exchange information on rubber technology. The RTN honors dedicated rubber technologists for their contribution to the sustainability in the rubber industry globally. The RTN already has 200 members and aims to connect with all rubber technologists globally.
