Nightclub bows out with one last weekend of music.

CATHRINA HULSE IT'S set to be the end of an era this weekend as one of Solihull's oldest nightspots plays its final dance track to make way for upcoming developments.

Missoula Bar, on the town centre's High Street, will say "thank you for the music" this Friday, Saturday and Sunday as it bows out with a bang.

Clubbers have already said a fond farewell to Luna Solihull, above Missoula, meaning the town centre can no longer boast a nightclub.

The site dates from the 17th century and the original pub was known as the Malt Shovel.

The venue has seen several name changes including the Snooty Fox (1978-1993) with Scandals night club above, Rosie O'Brien's, Rosie's Pump House and The Pump House from 1993-2004 and Loaf between 2004 and 2006.

It then reopened as Pop World and briefly as B91 around 2009 before a stint as House Missoula Bar from 2016.

A message from the club's Facebook account said: "It is with a heavy heart that we announce we will be closing our doors for good.

"Come and celebrate over 100 years of history, countless renames, misbehaving, dancing and the rest.

"Please come and party with us, eat with us and have fun with us.

"Thank you for all your custom, loyalty & support over the years.

"We love you. Team Missoula xx" Clubbers expressed their dismay on Facebook.

Wayneo Worrallo said: "The end of an era."

While Nadia Davies commented: "ROSIES - home of the Solihull Massive. Happy days x."

Sean Kenny wrote: "Wow, spent a lot of my DJ days here. Will be the end of an ERA!" And Antony Fletcher said: "RIP the Snooty Fox and Scandals!" Chris Earp wrote: "The kids of today will never understand when I say to my kids, back in my day, Rosies was the place to be."

The bar will say a final farewell this Friday, with Cheltenham's Gold Cup day on live screens. Ska Studs then play live from 8pm with a DJ until 2am.

Saturday sees DJ Will from 8pm until 2am and the final act on Sunday, March 18, features a charity gig for MIND in the form of the Billy Bone Idol Tribute from 6pm.
