Nigel's anger at Oz gaffe.

CELEBRITY Aston Villa fan Nigel Kennedy threatened to pull out of a tour Down Under after bungling Aussies labelled him... a West Ham supporter!

The spiky-haired musician was linked with the 'wrong' team in claret and blue - in a slip-up which he branded 'almost libellous!'

The gaffe came in a news release from the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, plugging the Malvern-based violinist's tour.

It paid tribute to Kennedy 'whose staggering technique, popular appeal and passion for West Ham United have opened up a world of classical music to a huge audience.'

A spokesman for Kennedy said: 'Nigel was amazed at the gaffe and told the journalist concerned he would be pulling out of the tour, but it was all a bit tongue in cheek.'

Kennedy, a regular in the Holte End at Villa Park, is due to play at the Sydney Opera House on March 29 - 31.
