Nicola in tune with the kids.

Politicians aren't usually slow in blowing their own trumpet.

But yesterday Nicolas Sturgeon was given a lesson on how to use the brass instrument by members of the Govanhill Big Noise Orchestra.

The First Minister was attending the inaugural Govanhill carnival and anti-racism festival held in Queen's Park in Glasgow.

Sturgeon was also given a violin lesson by nine-year-old Iliana Hughes from the Govanhill Big Noise Orchestra.

Politicians like to think they're in tune with young people, and in Sturgeon's case, she proved she is.
